Introduction : We recently have developed a Lee’s method for pancreatico-jejunostomy (PJ) anastomosis during pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). Here, we present our techniqe and initial experience of PD using a Lee's method
Methods : Lee’s method has been developed and applied since November 2017. From then, 25 patients underwent curative-intent PD by single surgeon (WJLEE) at Severance Hospital. The data on consecutive patients who underwent PD were prospectively collected and retrospectively analyzed.
Results : 25 cases of PD have been performed with very good results without a clinically significant postoperative pancreatic fistula. There is an 1 patient(4%) hospital mortality, as a result of postoperative sepsis.
Conclusions : Lee's method may dramatically reduce the occurrence of postoperative pancreatic fistula after PD. Further following cases were needed to validate this procedure.
